Economic and organisational democracy

The macro level of Economic democracy:

At the macro level, the focus is on the democratisation of macroeconomic issues. For example, through democratic planning, a fundamental promotion of public and co-operative ownership or an expansion of public services of general interest.

The fundamental question at the macro level is what is produced, how and for whom. Related to this is the question of which needs are met with how many resources, which results in which sectors need to grow or shrink. It is therefore about the principles and values behind the organisation of the economy on the one hand and the fair distribution of resources on the other.

At the macro level, we identify various strands, or varieties, of economic democracy, some of which are based solely on theoretical considerations, others of which are already being applied in practice or have been tried and tested historically.
